Responsible Parenting can Help in Making our Children Responsible

Responsible Parenting can Help in Making Our Children Responsible

When it comes to children’s behavior, parents are the one, who are responsible for the action that they take. parentingstyles fly.size480x360 Responsible Parenting can Help in Making our Children ResponsibleWhether it is morality, learning, function or attitude, each one of these depend solely on how are they taught by their parents. It is our responsibility to make sure that we give it our best for instilling all these behaviors in our kids. We need to make them realize that there are right ways of doing all of these things.

In case we opt for not teaching our kids or parenting seriously, there is no one more responsible than ourselves behind the current state of our child and even their future. If we believe that we are not accountable for our children and their action, then we should look into ourselves. There are possibilities that we may not be fit enough for being parents at all. We always dream of seeing our children have a bright future in this world. For that, we need to teach them the right things to do.

Violence has been growing at an alarming rate in the young generation of the society. I believe that the parenting style, used for raising the children, is what to blame for their actions. One of the things, which you can do for reducing your child’s violent nature, is keeping the knives and firearms locked up. We should never give them harsh and unreasonable punishments. We should also have an eye out on the things that they watch and the company, which they keep. This can avoid all those qualities, which neither you nor the society, desire to see in your child.

The one thing, which actually causes a growth of indecent behaviors in our kids, is that we do not use the parenting skills to the maximum. We always complain on why our children do not have the respect for us or the society. However, we forget that it is us, who they learn everything from. Therefore, there can only be two things responsible for this:

  • We haven’t used our parenting skills correctly
  • We haven’t used our parenting skills at all

In either of these cases, it is our children, who are the worst affected ones. We are the first teachers in their life. We are the ones, from whom they come to know the most about how to lift a foot in the society. We should make sure that we carry our responsibilities better to make our children more responsible.

Is parenting for the first time actually tough?

Is Parenting for the First Time Actually Tough?

The Land of Plenty-3 Steps to Stop Pumping ProblemsIs parenting actually tough for first-time parents? Does it throw challenges, which cannot be overcome by them? If you ask me, parenting is a gift from ‘Up-Above’, which is meant to bring smile on your face almost all the time. However, why do we feel this way? Why does it seem almost a world of pressure when it comes to looking after a newborn? The answer is simple: Most parents consider parenting to be a JOB.

Yes, it sound harsh, but it is true. This is one of the reasons why, out of frustration, most people come up with harsh lines like ‘What is this? What have I got myself into? Wouldn’t it be better, if I got back into time and live alone?’ All these questions are sure to make most of us believe that after being a parent, the life can be quite difficult. However, it is completely an opposite case. You want to know, why! Let us go back down the memory lane.

Ask yourself this question. Even before you had a baby, what made you the happiest people on the planet? It is the news that you will have a new member in your family soon. Even though we have a lot of successes in our life that we boast off, but there is nothing in comparison to the joy we have, when we hear this news. You would find yourself informing everyone about this. This is a time when you feel on top of the world. Ask yourself; isn’t it so?

Now, lets move ahead in time and turn to that very day when your child was about to be born. Do you think you were as nervous, as you are than ever in your life, both professional and personal? There is no moment that passes by when we do not pray for the well-being of the child being born, till the child eventually comes out and turns the nervousness into joy. If you have sleepless nights for them and pray for their well being even before they are born, then why does it all changes abruptly after the birth.

Image...Even though the count of such parents, who consider parenting to be an unbearable pressure, would be low, but the fact that they even exist seems something odd to me. There are still a number of people out there, who cannot be what you are and live a sour life. It might seem tough in the beginning, but once you realize the beauty of the parenting ride, you will never repent for a single moment on why you were a Parent.

A few tips to help your child grow..

There are ways we, as parents, can help our child grow and develop to become the a great person. We all want that for our child, but do we do all we can to help them do that?

Here are a few great ways to help you child grow:

Love – love you child unconditionally. Weather he dose his homework or not, cleans his room or not. Your love should be way beyond these things. Your child will notice that.

Tell them you love them – Just tell them “I love you”, a few times a day. If you find that difficult, you only need it more.
hug hh A few tips to help your child grow.. Believe – have faith in your child’s abilities and potential. Tell him that you do believe in him and his ability. There is no better way to grow a potent adult than believing in him totally.

Set an example – This way your child can learn about the right and wrong straight from your behavior. Always remember that a child will learn weather you set a good or a dab example.

Commend your child every time he acts in a way you find to be a good way. Commending him insures he will act that way the nest time, too.

Tell them what you see as good features – if you think that generosity is a good feature to have, tell that to your child, and commend them each time they act in a generous way.

Remember that each child is different – let every child develop in his unique way and remember that an approach that is good for one child is not suitable for the other one.

Stay positive – Tell your child what’s good, not what’s bad. For example, tell them that “being polite will bring you better results in life” instead of telling them that : “being rude will get you no where in life”

Take a few seconds before you say something to your child. – especially when they did something wrong, pay closer attention to what you’re saying to your child. What’s the smartest thing you can tell him right now?

Tell you child a story that has a positive message for life. I still remember the stories I was told when I was a child and the effect they had on me!

Try to establish a peaceful environment in your home – this will have a lasting effect on the kind of person your child will grow to be.

Look at other parents and learn – take the good things and think how you can implement them with your child. Take the bad things and beware not to do that to your child.

Ask yourself each day – how can I be a better parent?

Being a better parent is not always easy but it have a lasting effect on how your child will grow and develop. Most parents just go with the flow. Don’t be like that. Make an effort to being a better parent. The rewards are priceless.

There are different styles of parenting….

There are different styles of parenting, and each of them has it’s own style and characteristics. Basically, there are four styles of parenting: authoritarian, authoritative (sometimes called egalitarian), permissive, and uninvolved.

parenting style 300x210 They Say: Authoritative Parents Breed LeadersThe uninvolved parenting style is when the parents are simply not there to be parents to their children. So this type of parenting can be described as “non existent”. Therefore, we will not discuss it here, because it is not an effective parenting style. Kids with an uninvolved parent often struggle with feelings of rejection, lack of self-esteem, and trust issues.

Let’s take a look at the other three parenting styles – authoritarian, authoritative and permissive.

Authoritarian, authoritative and permissive represent the range of parenting styles, where authoritarian is on one end, the permissive on the other end, and authoritative in the middle.

The parenting style differ form each other in two aspects – structure and responsiveness.

Structure represents the limits and rules a child has to obey to, therefore it is the main ingredient in authoritarian parenting.

Responsiveness is the parent’s sensitivity to a child’s voice. It represents the child’s wants and needs. Responsiveness is therefore the most important element in permissive parenting.

So, while authoritarian parenting is high on structure, it is low on Responsiveness. For example, is a child is late to come home, he or she will expect to be punished. If they fail to complete their homework or other chores, they will bare the consequences. Their parent will not listen to their needs and there will be no negotiation as for the limits and rules that this parent determines for his child.

With the permissive parent, things are quite the opposite. There are very few rules and limits to the child, and therefore, he or she have very little discipline. This may cause future problems, as these children do not learn how to deal with rules and how to connect between wring doing and punishment.

The best parenting model is the authoritative model. This is a balanced model between the authoritarian and the permissive models. Using this model, the child learns to obey rules and limitation imposed by his parent. But the child is also able to voice his or her opinion, and negotiate. For example, a child can ask for a new curfew hour, if it is justified. He can ask to bend the rules once, if it is important. The authoritative families work as a team ,where the child has duties and rules, but also has the right to have adults listen to his opinions and needs.

Authoritative parenting is a balanced parenting style, with both high structure and high responsiveness. The parents are engaged and flexible, but they are still the parents. Structure—rules, limits and boundaries—is present, but not rigid.
